Songkran in Phuket video

If you’ve never experienced Songkran festival in Thailand, you really must. It’s like nothing you have never seen before. The whole country just goes nuts and has a massive water fight. Songkran in Phuket is no different. If anything, it’s one of the more intense places to “play” Songkran.

Songkran takes place every year April 13 to 15. It’s not until the final day when people go completely nuts around Phuket and the majority of the water fighting takes place. The best way to enjoy Songkran in Phuket, if you can hack it, is to find a friend with a pickup truck and get them to drive around the island.

Load yourselves up with a barrel of water and a bunch of bucket and water guns and follow the trail. Songkran in Patong is a blast — literally. The bar girls, tourists, locals, expats — everyone joins in the fun for Songkran in Patong.

Wrap your phone and wallet in a plastic bag and where clothes you don’t mind ruining. This video should give you a good idea of what Songkran is like in Phuket.
